I just want to make it clear that I am not easily annoyed or irritated. I am a pretty easy going gal and laugh stuff off most of the time.
This morning was another story.
Everything annoyed me.
Every.
Thing.
- It was way too cold to get out from under the covers which resulted in an instant attitude. My mom calls this 'waking up on the wrong side of the bed.' Well mom, our bed is up against a wall right now so there is only one side to get up on.
- Then I couldn't find our toothpaste. Not even kidding. It wasn't anywhere in our bathroom. Why was there a need to move it? I have no idea. Nathan didn't move it and I didn't move it, but somehow it wound up in the bedroom sitting on top of a box. Gee, I hope I am not sleepwalking again.
- Then I made a smoothie. I had everything in the blender before I realized, I have no idea where the lid is. *sigh* After searching everywhere and finally finding it, even the place where I had put it really annoyed me. Really Amanda? We are going to keep the lid there?
- And I left my coat in the car last night. And like I said, it's cold this morning.
So with all of my little irritants in tow, I made it to the car and turned on the radio. The first words I hear?
Coffee? You have my attention."If you're like me you need hope, coffee, and melody"
The Chorus of the song went onto say,
Who are you and what are you doing in my head!?!?"And this might not be the prettiest thing that you've ever seen, but it's a new day.""And it might not look like a beautiful sunrise, but it's a new day."
Not to be super mushy or anything, but this really changed my stinky attitude. This is a new day! And it is what I make it to be! The possibilities for this day are endless! And I decided that today is a good day and that I am in a good mood! What-do-ya-know? It's working! =)
Check out the song if you have a minute. It is so beautiful!
Thank you Robby Seay Band for making my morning a little better!
The Dinner
Last night's dinner was amazing! I made what I am going to call 'Melt in Your Mouth Chicken' with a side of Garlic Roasted Cauliflower. It was a very white meal with no color but don't let that fool you! It was full of flavor!
The Chicken was super easy to make.
What you need:
2 Large Chicken Breasts cut in half
1 (5 oz) container of plain Greek yogurt
Parmasean Cheese (maybe 1/3 cup?)
Garlic powder
Black Pepper
Mix the last four ingredients. Coat the chicken in the mixture and bake on a greased dish at 350* for 45 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
I actually didn't tell Nathan that there was Greek Yogurt in it until he had already said that it tasted amazing! He doesn't like greek yogurt so I was so nervous that he wouldn't eat this. But he loved it!
The Cauliflower was just as simple.
What you need:
I bag of frozen cauliflower
2 or more T olive oil
Black Pepper
Garlic Powder
Coat the Cauliflower in olive oil, black pepper and garlic powder. Bake at 350* for 40 minutes stirring every 10-15minutes to prevent burning.
Viola!
It is then recommended to finish the meal with a bowl of ice cream.
Highly recommended!!
The Breakfast
As mentioned breakfast was a smoothie. I had two bananas on the brink of stink and I knew today was my last chance to use them up. So I threw them both in the blender with some peanut butter, cocoa powder, milk and vanilla greek yogurt.
It was very tasty but way too much! I had to throw some of it out cuz I just couldn't finish it all!! Super filing!
*I would like to take another moment to apologize for the picture quality. My camera has died and I am using my phone. Hopefully a new one will be under the Christmas tree!! =) *
Do you consider yourself to be easily annoyed or irritated? What helps you get over a funk mood?
Yum!! We all love garlic around here and I have everything to make the chicken. Hmmm... I think I know what I'm having for dinner tonight! Thanks for the ideas!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will love it! It was so moist and delicious! =)
